The University of Newcastle Overview
The University of Newcastle (UoN), established in 1965, is a prominent Australian public university in New South Wales. The University of Newcastle Entry Requirements
- English Requirement: To be eligible for a higher education course at UoN, international students must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, with no individual band score below 6.0.
- Academic Requirement: Normally, applicants are required to have completed Year 12 or equivalent in order to enroll in an undergraduate program. For the postgraduate program, the applicants need to obtain a bachelor’s degree or international equivalent. The minimum academic record varies, depending on each course.

College of International Education International Pathways Scholarship
The College of International Education International Pathways Scholarship aims to support international students who have completed a pathway program (Foundation Studies, Degree Transfer, Degree Transfer Extended and Pre-Master’s Program) and progress their bachelor or master coursework program at UoN. Eligible students can receive a reduction of 10% of tuition fee each year, with the maximum value of up to AUD17,575 as of 2024.

International Excellence Scholarship
The UoN has been offering International Excellence Scholarships valued from AUD4,000 to AUD8,000 per year for eligible international students who demonstrate a strong academic achievement and will commence study with UoN in Trimester 2, 2024 and beyond. The maximum value you can receive is up to AUD32,000, over a full-time 4-year course.

Business and Management Excellence Scholarship
The Business and Management Excellence Scholarship is designed to attract strong academic background students who enroll in a key Business and Management course at UoN. Eligible students from Asia Pacific regions can receive up to AUD12,000 per year while Africa/Middle East students can receive AUD8,000 annually. The amount that international students from the rest of the world can get is AUD4,000 per year if they are qualified.
