The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship (VCIS) is granted to international students who have demonstrated academic excellence. The scholarship provides financial assistance of up to AUD $10,000, which is applied towards the recipient’s tuition fees. The Macquarie University Sponsored Student Grant is given to upcoming international students who will begin their studies in 2023 and have secured a fully-funded external scholarship from Asian scholarship bodies. The scholarship is a one-time award that can provide financial assistance of up to AUD $5,000. 

Eligibility 

To qualify for the Macquarie University Sponsored Student Grant, candidates must have secured a fully-funded external scholarship from Asian scholarship bodies. Additionally, they must meet the following requirements: 

  • Must hold a full offer for a course listed in the  
  • Must be a full-time student pursuing on-campus studies. 
  • Must achieve a minimum of 65 WAM for Postgraduate or a minimum of 85 ATAR (or equivalent) for Undergraduate applications. 
  • Must begin their studies in the session and year indicated in their scholarship letter of offer. 

How to apply 

To apply for this scholarship, candidates must fill out a nomination form and have a valid offer letter to study at Macquarie University. The application form requires the following:

ASEAN Partner Institution Scholarships

About the scholarship 

To acknowledge the strong partnership between Macquarie University and institutions in the ASEAN region, we are pleased to offer the ASEAN Partner Scholarship to prospective students from this region who have a passion for learning. This scholarship provides funding of up to AUD $15,000 per year to outstanding students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an ASEAN partner institution. 

Eligibility  

To be eligible for the ASEAN Partner Scholarship, you must be a full-time international student who is commencing an on-campus undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and meet the following requirements: 

  • You must be transferring from a Macquarie University ASEAN partner institution as part of an official dual degree or articulation program. 
  • You must achieve a minimum WAM of 65 for postgraduate programs or a minimum ATAR of 85 (or its equivalent) for undergraduate programs. 
  • You must not have received any scholarship or sponsorship from Macquarie University or any other organization for the degree (unless stated otherwise by the Scholarship Committee). 
  • You must commence your studies in the session and year specified in the scholarship letter of offer.

English language Scholarship

About the scholarship  

The English Language Scholarship is available for students from eligible countries who intend to study for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. The scholarship will cover 50% of the tuition fees for Academic English (packaged) taken from the Macquarie University College – English Language Programs for up to 10 weeks. As scholarships are limited, we encourage applicants to apply and accept the scholarship offer early to avoid disappointment. 

The scholarship covers up to 10 weeks of English Language Program. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a full-time international student studying Academic English on-campus and fulfill the following criteria: 

  • You must be a citizen of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, or one of the countries located in the Latin American region. 
  • You must have received a packaged offer for English Language and Coursework Degree with the English program commencing in 2023.

African Women in STEM Scholarship

About the scholarship 

The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship for African Women in STEM is a scholarship that supports the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at Macquarie University. The scholarship covers 50% of the total tuition fee and is awarded to encourage women from the African region to pursue their educational goals and reach their full potential. 

Duration 

The scholarship will remain valid for the entire duration of the course specified in the Letter of Offer for admission. However, if the student does not follow the standard full-time course structure, the total value of the scholarship may be utilized before the completion of the course. 

Eligibility  

To qualify for this scholarship, you need to be a female student pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics at either undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) level and satisfy the following conditions: 

  • You must hold citizenship from a Sub-Saharan African country. 
  • You need to obtain a minimum of 65 WAM for Postgraduate or a minimum of 85 ATAR (or an equivalent score) for Undergraduate applications.

If you wish to apply for the Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship – African Women in STEM, you must fill out a scholarship application form and possess a current offer letter to study at Macquarie University. Faculty of Science and Engineering Women in Stem Scholarship

About the scholarship 

The Science, Engineering and IT Scholarship is designed to support students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Science, Engineering, and IT fields. The scholarship will prioritize applicants who can demonstrate hardship or disadvantage, including but not limited to financial hardship, non-English speaking background, geographic disadvantage, and disability. 

The scholarship is applicable for up to four years for undergraduate students and up to two years for postgraduate students, subject to ongoing eligibility criteria. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be a current school leaver or non-current school leaver with a proven record of high academic achievement. 
  • Have an offer of admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in the Faculty of Science and Engineering for the relevant session. 
  • Identify as female. 
  • Intend to study full-time and on-campus. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to work hard and achieve goals. 

How to apply 

Two references are required, one from an academic source such as a school principal, and the other from someone who can attest to the applicant’s suitability for the scholarship. Shortlisted applicants may be requested to attend an informal interview with representatives of Macquarie University. In the application form, a personal statement should be included to answer three questions:  

  • why the degree was chosen,  
  • what the applicant hopes to achieve after completing the degree, and  
  • how the scholarship will benefit the applicant’s studies and career.  
  • Applicants who have experienced hardship or disadvantage as outlined in the selection criteria must provide supporting documents like Centrelink statements, doctor’s certificate, or counsellor’s report. 

Global Alumni MBA Scholarship

About the scholarship 

The scholarship offered by Macquarie University acknowledges the accomplishment of alumni who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Eligible candidates pursuing a Global MBA program can receive a 10% reduction in their tuition fees, with the discount being applied each session. As scholarships are limited in number, we advise interested students to apply and accept the offer as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be international students enrolled full-time in a Global MBA course, and they must meet specific criteria. Indian Arts Partner Scholarship

About the scholarship 

The Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is designed to acknowledge academic achievement among Indian students studying at Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) in Kolkata, and The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai.  

The scholarship is applicable throughout the duration of the course, as outlined in the Letter of Offer for admission. However, if a student deviates from the standard full-time course structure, the total value of the scholarship may be depleted before the completion of the course. 

Criteria 

The Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is available to full-time international students pursuing a Master’s degree program on-campus, subject to specific criteria.  

  • Eligible candidates must either be enrolled in an undergraduate program or have recently graduated from one of the designated colleges.  
  • Additionally, they must have obtained a minimum WAM of 65 or equivalent for Postgraduate (coursework) applications and hold a complete offer for one of the courses listed in the ‘Applicable course’ section (single or double degree).  
  • Applicants should not have received a scholarship or sponsorship from Macquarie University or any other organization for their degree, unless otherwise approved by the Scholarship Committee.  
  • The scholarship is valid for the duration of the course, as stated in the Letter of Offer for admission, although it may be exhausted sooner if the student does not follow the standard full-time course structure. 

Macquarie University Alumni Scholarship

About the scholarship 

The scholarship offered by Macquarie University acknowledges the academic achievements of its alumni who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. This scholarship provides a 10% discount on tuition fees for eligible Macquarie University alumni pursuing a postgraduate coursework degree in any field. (10% of the tuition fees will be credited every session). Given the limited availability of scholarships, we recommend that you apply and accept early to avoid disappointment. 

The scholarship is valid for the duration of the course, as specified in the Letter of Offer for admission. However, if a student deviates from the standard full-time course structure, the total value of the scholarship may be depleted before the completion of the course.

Macquarie University-ANU Alumni Postgraduate Support Scheme

About the scholarship 

The Macquarie University-ANU Alumni postgraduate support scheme is designed to assist Macquarie University and ANU alumni in upskilling or retraining to adapt to the evolving world. It is available to all eligible ANU alumni, whether domestic or international, to support their ongoing postgraduate studies at Macquarie University.  

ANU alumni who enrol in a postgraduate program at Macquarie University in 2023 or 2024 are eligible for a 10% tuition fee reduction on most courses. This scholarship remains valid for the entire duration of the program, even if it extends beyond 2024. 

Criteria 

In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must be a full-fee paying domestic or international student beginning a postgraduate coursework program and satisfy the following requirements: 

  • Hold a Bachelor degree or higher qualification from the Australian National University. 
  • Have received an offer to commence a Macquarie University Postgraduate Coursework Degree in either 2023 or 2024, excluding the Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Non-Award courses, Master of Chiropractic, Clinical Neuropsychology, Organisational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Audiology, or Speech and Language Pathology. 
  • Not be a recipient of a Commonwealth Supported Place, or other Government/Macquarie University fee sponsorships.

Macquarie University Excellence Scholarship - Mexico 2023

About the scholarship 

The Macquarie University Excellence Scholarship – Mexico 2023 is designed to recognize outstanding Mexican students who wish to pursue postgraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University. This scholarship covers 50% of the total tuition fees for a maximum of two years, excluding MBA and Master of Applied Finance programs.  

This scholarship is granted for a duration of up to two years. 

Eligibility  

Eligibility for the scholarship is contingent upon being a Mexican citizen and enrolling in an eligible postgraduate degree. In addition to this, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • Hold a full offer for an eligible postgraduate course. 
  • Attain a minimum WAM of 80 or equivalent. 
  • Not receive any other scholarship or sponsorship (unless approved by the Scholarship Committee). 
  • Begin their studies in Session 2, 2023. 
  • Submit a complete application.

To be considered for the Macquarie University Excellence Scholarship – Mexico 2023, applicants are required to hold a valid offer letter to study at Macquarie University and complete an application form. To complete the process, applicants must:
