Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Have a minimum GPA in previous studies of 5.5 or above on a 7 point scale or equivalent.
- Have applied to study at Griffith by the scholarship application closing date.
- Satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
- Be a full-time student starting in Trimester 1, 2 or 3 2023.

Terms and Conditions
- Students must be enrolled full-time and making progress in their studies that meets their student visa requirements to receive and maintain the scholarship, and/or meet the requirements of their program of study, unless credit prevents full-time enrolment.
- To maintain scholarship eligibility, students must pass all the requirements for each trimester of studies and successfully progress on to enrol in the next trimester. A minimum cumulative GPA of 5.5 on a 7.0 point grading scale must be maintained to qualify for each tuition fee deduction in the following trimester of enrolment.
- Students must remain enrolled in the program for which the scholarship offer was made, which is stated on the Letter of Offer issued by Griffith International Admissions.
- Should a student withdraw or cancel for any reason, the scholarship amount is non-refundable

- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Have a minimum GPA in previous studies of 5.5 or above on a 7 point scale or equivalent.
- Satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
- Be a full-time student starting in 2022 or 2023.

International Student Academic Merit Scholarship

- Duration: Valid for your whole degree
- Level of Study: Available for both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs
Eligibility
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Have a minimum GPA in previous studies of 5.0 to 5.49 on a 7-point scale or equivalent.
- Satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
- Be a full-time student starting in 2022 or 2023.
Terms and Conditions
- Scholarship applies to tuition fees only for students commencing in 2022 or 2023. Students who defer commencement to 2024 or later are not eligible to receive the scholarship.
- If a student is awarded a Griffith University scholarship that is worth more than 20% of tuition fees, the scholarship at the higher value will apply rather than this scholarship.

Similar to International Student Academic Excellence Scholarship, the International Student Academic Merit Scholarship at Griffith University is assessed automatically, so you do not need to apply separately for this scholarship. Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (GUPRS)
About the scholarship
- Value: The GUPRS provides a living allowance of AUD $32,192 per annum — paid as a fortnightly stipend, and a relocation allowance. Sick leave, parental leave and leave of absence provisions also apply. This scholarship does not cover tuition fees.
- Duration: The GUPRS may be held for up to two years for a research master program and up to three years for a doctoral program. A six-month extension may be granted to doctoral candidates in certain circumstances.
- Level of study: The GUPRS is applied for Master by Research and doctoral programs.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be commencing or enrolled in a research program at Griffith University
- not be receiving income from another source to support the candidate’s general living costs that provides a benefit greater than 75% of the GUPRS stipend rate to undertake the proposed program.
Selection process
- Awardees are ranked and selected on the basis of academic merit, research potential and the quality of the research training environment in which their research project will be undertaken, taking into account the University’s strategic priorities.

- English language requirements: Normally, you are required to obtain an IELTS 6.5 with no band score under 6.0.
- your supervisor details: you need to contact your preferred potential supervisors early to check their availability and seek for their approval to supervise you. You may need your proposed supervisor’s written support before you can submit your expression of interest.
- your research proposal: It is a key requirement of your application. Once your supervisor/s agree to support your project, work with them to develop your research proposal.

While you can apply at any time, it’s recommended that you apply at least four months before your preferred intake to allow sufficient time for your application to be assessed, your offer letter issued and accepted.

Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend Scholarship and Australian Government Research Training Program International fee offset scholarship
About this scholarship
- The Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend Scholarship provides a living allowance of AUD $32,192 (2023 rate, indexed annually) per annum; paid as a fortnightly stipend. Relocation, sick leave and parental leave provisions also apply.
- The Australian Government Research Training Program International Fee Offset Scholarship covers tuition fees for up to three years for doctoral candidates and up to two years for research master candidates. In addition, the scholarship covers Overseas Student Health Cover for the applicant and any dependant(s) for the duration of the scholarship.
- If granted with both above scholarships, you will be covered with all the costs for study in Australia.
- Duration:
- These scholarships may be held for up to two years for a research master’s program and up to three years for a doctoral program.
- A six-month extension may be granted to doctoral candidates in certain circumstances.
Eligibility
Applicants must be commencing or enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research program at Griffith University. Applicants must not be receiving income from another source to support their general living costs that provides a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP stipend.
