Entry Requirements
English Language Requirement:
- For undergraduate programs: you are required to have at least an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no band score under 5.5.
- For postgraduate programs: you are required to have at least an IELTS overall score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with no band score under 6.0.
Academic Requirements:
- To enrol in Bachelor programs: you are required to have completed High School qualifications in New Zealand or your home country. The minimum grade required will depend on each study program.
- To enrol in Taught Maters programs: you need to have completed a bachelor degree or postgraduate diploma from New Zealand or an acceptable equivalent oversea qualification.
- To enrol in Research Maters programs: you must have completed a bachelor honours degree or postgraduate diploma from New Zealand or an acceptable equivalent overseas qualification.
Tuition Fee for International Students
The tuition fee varies, depending on each program. However, as of 2024, the tuition fee ranges from NZ$36,836 to NZ$62,933. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the most expensive course, with the annual tuition fee of NZ$83,232.
Scholarships for International Students
University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship offers up to NZ$10,000 for new, eligible international students who enroll in a full-time Undergraduate, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters Program at the University of Auckland. The scholarship committee will rely on academic merit, the quality of application letter and reference letter to select the right awardees for this scholarship.

University of Auckland Foundation Pathway High Achiever Award
This scholarship is to recognise high-achieving students who have completed a recognised Foundation program and wish to enroll in a full-time undergraduate study at The University of Auckland. There will be 30 Scholarships per year, and each scholarship values up to NZ$20,000.

The University of Auckland ELA High Achiever Award
This scholarship is to recognise high-achieving students who enrolled in the University of Auckland’s Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes and are holding an undergraduate conditional offer from University of Auckland. There will be 10 seats available for this scholarship, and each scholarship will value up to NZ$5000.
