Lincoln University Overview

Lincoln University, established in 1878, is a prominent institution focusing on land-based sciences in New Zealand. Entry Requirements

English Language Proficiency Requirement:

  • For undergraduate programs, you are required to have at least an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no band score under 5.5.
  • For postgraduate programs, you are required to have at least an IELTS overall score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with no band score under 6.0.

Academic Requirement:

  • To enrol in Bachelor programs, you are required to have completed High School qualifications in New Zealand or your home country. The minimum grade required will depend on each study program.
  • To enrol in Taught Maters programs, you need to have completed a bachelor degree or postgraduate diploma from New Zealand or an acceptable equivalent oversea qualification.  
  • To enrol in Research Maters programs, you must have completed a bachelor honours degree or postgraduate diploma from New Zealand or an acceptable equivalent overseas qualification. 

Tuition Fee for International Students

  • As of 2024, the tuition fee for Undergraduate Degree ranges from NZ$31,500 to NZ$36,000 per year.  
  • The tuition fee for the entire Taught Master’s program (1.5 years) ranges from NZ$48,000 to NZ$54,000. Please note that some master’s degree requires 2 years of full-time study, so the tuition fee will be higher.

Scholarships for International Students

Lincoln University International Pathway Merit Scholarship

A tuition fee discount of NZ$2,500 will be provided for all eligible international students who enroll in one of the courses below:  

  • Diploma in University Studies (3 semester pathway) 
  • Diploma in University Studies (2 semester pathway) 
  • Certificate in University Studies

Lincoln University International Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship is to attract high-achieving international students to an Undergraduate program at Lincoln University. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a new student at Lincoln University and must meet all the admissions requirements for the course you are enrolled in.

Lincoln University Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship

This scholarship, valued at NZ$5,000, is to support international students who demonstrate academic excellence and have enrolled in a Bachelor program at Lincoln University. To be qualified for the scholarship, you must meet all admissions requirements for the program you are enrolling in and have a GPA of at least 70% or higher in your previous qualification. Lincoln University International School Leavers Scholarship

Lincoln University International School Leavers Scholarship offers financial aid of up to NZ$10,000 for international students who are school leavers from a New Zealand or overseas high school. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet all English and academic requirements for admissions and have an excellent academic record. 180-credit Taught Master Merit Scholarship

180-credit Taught Master Merit Scholarship is to support international students who have enrolled in a 180-credit Taught Master program at Lincoln University. You can either receive financial support of NZ$7,000 or NZ$10,000, depending on the program you are enrolling in. To be qualified for this scholarship, you must achieve at least a grade B+ (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree.
