International student support scholarship
About the scholarship
Newly commencing international students are eligible to receive a 20% fee discount for the entire duration of their course through this scholarship.
Eligibility
The International Student Support Scholarship is available to eligible new commencing international applicants who will study on-campus at Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Orange, Port Macquarie, or Wagga Wagga for approved courses starting in 2023. The scholarship is not open to continuing or transferring students. Applicants must be international students who will start studying at a regional campus in 2023.
To continue receiving the scholarship, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress (pass average) throughout their course. If a student transfers out of their regional location at any point, they will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
Recipients are also expected to actively participate in student life and agree to provide information, testimonials, and potentially be featured in Charles Sturt University’s promotional materials.

Destination Australia Scholarship - International Students
About the scholarship
The Destination Australia scholarship is an initiative of the Australian Government aimed at promoting regional Australia as a study destination. By choosing to study in a regional area, students can benefit from being part of a tight-knit community, lower cost of living, personalized support, and practical learning opportunities. Additionally, they can experience a lively lifestyle without the stress of the city. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 per year.
Eligibility
In order to be considered for the Destination Australia Scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a new international student commencing studies at Charles Sturt University in 2023.
- Be enrolled as a full-time internal student.
- Reside in a regional area at the commencement and for the duration of the study period.
- Hold a valid student visa for the duration of the scholarship.
- Have accepted an offer to study a full-time program that is registered on CRICOS and is delivered at a regional campus of Charles Sturt University.
- Be enrolled in one of the eligible courses listed below at the designated campus:
To remain eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria by the census date of each subsequent session:
- Maintain residency in a regional area as defined by the 2016 Australian Geography Standard Remoteness Structure for the duration of each study period.
- Remain enrolled full-time in the study program for the duration of the scholarship at the regional campus of the successful applicant.
- Meet the initial eligibility criteria.
- Maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 or higher.

Your scholarship application will be evaluated based on the eligibility criteria and supporting documents provided. Incomplete or incorrect documentation may result in an incomplete evaluation. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee the scholarship offer, as there may be quota restrictions. There is no requirement for an interview as part of the application process.

Vice-Chancellor Travel Grants (Exchange)
About the scholarship
This scholarship is open to students who are enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework and are participating in the Student Exchange Program. To be eligible, students must receive a credit of at least 24 points for their participation in the program.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- be receiving credit of at least 3 x 8 point subjects (or 24 points) for your participation in the exchange program
- not be already residing in the country in which your exchange will take place
- be enrolled in a Charles Sturt undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree program
- agree to the terms and conditions of the exchange program
If you are an international student:
- you must not be returning to your country of residence
- you must abide by the conditions of your visa
- you must be receiving credit of at least 3 x 8 point subjects (or 24 points) for your participation in the exchange program
- be enrolled in a Charles Sturt undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree program
- agree to the terms and conditions of the exchange program
Other details
After being accepted into the Student Exchange Program by Charles Sturt Global, you will be informed if you have been awarded a Vice Chancellor Travel Grant. To receive the payment of the Travel Grant, you must submit the following information to Charles Sturt Global at least four weeks before your departure:
- An official itinerary/e-ticket that shows payment of airfares and information about your return flights, including dates for your departure from and return to Australia.
- A certificate of insurance (along with the Product Disclosure Statement or PDS) that shows payment of insurance and information about your coverage, including dates from your departure from Australia to your arrival back in Australia. Your insurance coverage must include at least the following:
- Medical Expenses $500,000
- Repatriation Expenses $15,000
- Personal Liability $1,000,000
- 24-hour Emergency Assistance included
- A copy of your current passport
- Certificate of online predeparture module completion (including registration through Smart Traveller and Travel Tracker websites)
