Melbourne International Graduate scholarship
About the scholarship
The University of Melbourne offers a scholarship to international students who are pursuing their undergraduate studies. This scholarship provides one of the following benefits:
- A tuition fee remission of $10,000 for the first year of the undergraduate degree program, or
- A 50% fee remission for the entire duration of the three-year undergraduate degree program, or
- A 100% fee remission for the entire duration of the three-year undergraduate degree program.
Eligible international students may apply for this scholarship to help cover their tuition fees while pursuing their undergraduate studies at the University of Melbourne.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must have achieved excellent results in secondary school, placing you in the top 3%. Examples of qualifying results include:
- GCE A-levels: Three A* grades with numerical grades and an average result of at least 93% in the best three subjects
- Most Australian Foundation Studies: An overall result of at least 98%
- International Baccalaureate (IB): A score of at least 42 (completed at a secondary school outside of Australia)
- US High School: A combination of GPA of at least 3.9, along with a SAT score of at least 1500 or an ACT score of at least 31
- Canada Secondary School: An overall score of at least 97%
- India Secondary School (CBSE, ISCE or State Board Exam): An overall score of at least 95%
- Vietnam High School: An overall Year 12 GPA of 9.0 or above
Additionally, you must not have undertaken any tertiary studies previously, except for extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 program.
How to apply
Eligible candidates for this scholarship will be selected based on their academic achievements and ranking in their prior academic results. All students who meet the eligibility criteria will automatically be considered for the scholarship. The value of the scholarship will be determined based on the academic merit and ranking of the candidates.
Melbourne Chancellor scholarship
About the scholarship
Talented undergraduate students who have shown exceptional academic achievement during their Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate (IB) program undertaken in Australia may be awarded this scholarship. The scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee remission for the standard full-time duration of a Bachelor’s degree program.
Eligibility
To be considered for the Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Hold citizenship of a country other than Australia
- Have completed either Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in Australia
- Have applied for an undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne via VTAC, with the intention of commencing your studies in the year immediately following the completion of your Australian Year 12 or IB program
- Must not have undertaken any prior tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of your Year 12 program)
The scholarship is awarded solely on the basis of merit and is guaranteed to all students who meet the undergraduate course requirements and fulfil one of the following conditions:
- Achieved an ATAR of at least 99.90
- Achieved an ATAR of at least 99.85 and intend to pursue a Bachelor of Music, with an A+ audition score
- Achieved an ATAR of at least 90 and have Indigenous Australian ancestry.
How to apply
The Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship will be automatically considered for eligible students who have applied for admission to the University through VTAC.
Melbourne Global Graduate Scholarship
About the scholarship
The Melbourne Global Graduate Scholarship recognizes the academic achievements of international students who are enrolling in a master’s degree by coursework. The scholarship provides funding of:
- up to $15,000 for eligible Indonesian students
- up to $10,000 for eligible Indian and Vietnamese students
- up to $ 5,000 for Chinese, Singapore and Malaysian students
Eligibility
In order to qualify for the Melbourne Global Graduate Scholarship, you need to fulfill the following criteria:
- You have applied for and received an offer for an overseas fee place in a master’s degree by coursework that starts in 2023.
- You are not being sponsored by any scholarship provider external to the University of Melbourne.
- You have achieved a weighted average mark of at least 70 (equivalent to the University of Melbourne’s grading system) in your previous academic studies.

Eligible candidates for this scholarship will be selected based on their academic achievements and ranking in their prior academic results. All students who meet the eligibility criteria will automatically be considered for the scholarship.
Commerce Global Scholarship
About the scholarship
The Commerce Global Scholarships aim to support exceptional international students from countries that are considered under-represented in the Bachelor of Commerce program. Recipients of the scholarship will receive a 20% fee remission for the entire duration of their course.
Eligibility
To qualify for this scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:
- You must be an international student.
- You should have completed an approved Year 12 program or equivalent that meets the eligibility requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce.
- You must be a citizen of a country that has been identified as under-represented by the Academic Board (the list of eligible countries may vary from year to year).
- You should have received an unconditional offer for the Bachelor of Commerce.
- Selection for the scholarship is based on both academic merit (your academic achievements in your recent years of study) and your country of citizenship.

Business and Economics Gradate Scholarship
About the scholarship
The Faculty of Business and Economics recognizes the importance of diversity in its student community and acknowledges exceptional academic performance. The Business and Economics Graduate Scholarship is designed to encourage and recognize exceptional students who have applied for eligible higher degree coursework programs offered within the Faculty of Business and Economics. The scholarship offers a 25% reduction in course fees.
Eligibility
To be considered for the Business and Economics Graduate Scholarship, you must:
- Receive an offer for an eligible graduate coursework program within the Faculty of Business and Economics, excluding some courses such as Master of Entrepreneurship, Master of Analytics Management, and Master of Marketing.
- Exhibit a strong academic record from prior tertiary studies. Selection will be based on academic merit, specifically your results in your most recent year/s of study.
